About TERRAX

Building new ideas since 1962

TERRAX Universe

TERRAX is the global manufacturer of compact all-terrain machines for the transportation and handling of materials. Dumpers, forklifts and telehandlers — designed for the ground that larger machines cannot reach, and for the crews who have to live with them every shift.

Production
More than 10,000 vehicles a year
Know-how
More than 60 years designing and building
Distribution
520+ dealers in 80 countries
Headquarters
Tarragona, Spain

Subsidiaries in Madrid, Lyon, London, Munich, Los Angeles and Shanghai. Seventy percent of production leaves the Iberian market. Compact machines travel; the network is how they stay serviceable once they arrive.

Innovation

A vision for the future

Vehicles are designed with the next decade in mind: lines that last, systems that can take lithium-ion without a new chassis, and safety packs that ship as standard rather than as a catalogue option. Robustness, reliability and design are not separate projects.

Sustainability

Building a responsible future

Electrification of the compact range, 1,200 m² of solar on the Tarragona roof (a 35% cut in site emissions), and a service model that extends machine life instead of replacing it. Compact machines for a smaller footprint — on the jobsite and in the carbon ledger.

Quality

Every vehicle is tested

Incoming parts are checked on high-precision equipment. Every machine runs a dynamic test before it leaves. Suppliers are audited, not assumed. Warranty can be extended to three years — because the process behind the paint is not a slogan.

History

  1. 1962

    A workshop in Tarragona

Four engineers open a small works building utility chassis for local builders. The first machine is a 500 kg site dumper.

  2. 1968

    The first compact 4WD forklift

A rough-terrain forklift with a turning circle that fits a Catalan alley. Builders start asking for it by name.

  3. 1974

    Export begins

France, then the Maghreb and South America. Compact machines travel better than large ones. The network starts here.

  4. 1989

    United Kingdom subsidiary

The densest dumper market in Europe gets a dedicated TERRAX house, and the machines start appearing at the major trade fairs.

  5. 2001

    Hydrostatic generation

A new forklift range with hydrostatic drive and a multifunction joystick. Design stops being an afterthought.

  6. 2008

    Telehandlers

An ultracompact telescopic handler with a side-mounted boom completes the three-range architecture we still use.

  7. 2016

    North America

A California subsidiary and a dealer-and-service network across the US and Canada.

  8. 2022

    Electric range

The TX 15 EG dumper and HX 16 E telehandler ship with lithium-ion packs sized for a full intense shift.

  9. 2026

    Always driving forward

Next-generation compact dumpers, the FX 15 E forklift, and TRAXnow fleet software. Same ground. Better machines.

Mission

TERRAX designs, manufactures and sells compact all-terrain material handling and earthmoving equipment that delivers cost-effectiveness and innovation — and contributes to the quality of the places our customers build.
